Seining for Tropical Fish
Oak Beach Park, Babylon

Join Seatuck's Peter Walsh at Oak Beach Park, located along Ocean Parkway in Babylon, to learn about the Gulf Stream, the river of warm water that runs along our coast.  Learn how it affects local air and water temperatures and participate in a hands-on activity using seine nets to catch small tropical fish that get trapped in the current.  You'll have the opportunity see and hold some of the varied life found inside of one of Long Island's most dynamic ecosystems.
