Seatuck Birding Team Seatuck staff and volunteers put their birding skills to the test this holiday season as they took part in the Audubon Christmas Bird Count for the first time (see bird list below). Although the original intention was only to include the Scully property in the annual survey, a series of events led to Seatuck being responsible for surveying four other properties, including the Bayard-Cutting Arboretum, the South Shore Nature Center, the East Islip Marina and the Seatuck National Wildlife Refuge.

New Logo, New Look Do you notice anything different? We hope so. Early last fall, with plans for the nature center at Scully seemingly on track, Seatuck launched an effort to redesign its logo, stationery, newsletter, Web site and other publications. The goal was to create a fresher, more up-to-date and professional look as we prepared to spread the word about the organization and the undertaking at Scully. People in the business call the process "corporate re-branding."

Good Tern Award Seatuck is pleased to announce the creation of the Good Tern Award, an annual honor to recognize an individual who has made a significant and sustained contribution of volunteer service to the organization. The award's name and design is inspired by the Seatuck's new logo, which features a least tern.
