Bats & Brews features a presentation about bats (for those who are interested), craft beer from the best breweries on Long Island, great beer-themed food and awesome live music. And it's all in the setting of the 100-year old historic Scully Mansion, the perfect place for a fall party!

Additional Details:

The Bats

This year's bat talk will be given by Melissa Ingala, Ph.D. Candidate in Comparative Biology at the Richard Gilder Graduate School, American Museum of Natual History. Her talk, titled "Guano Happens: Insights into Bat Ecology Gathered from Poop," will highlight her research on the role of gut microbes – “the microbiome” – in shaping the evolution and ecology of mammals. We're proud to continue our longstanding relationship with the American Museum of Natural History and are looking forward to another fantastic presentation.

The Food

The 2018 Bats & Brews "Food Court" was a huge hit, so we're bringing it back this year, even bigger and better! Participating restaurants include:

The Music

We're thrilled to have The Decoys back for the 10th annual Bats & Brews - they've been with us from the beginning and are a key element in what makes "Bats" such a great event. As they like to say, they play "rootsy, feel-good, boogie-woogie, rock-n-roll, party music that makes you tap your toes, stomp your feet, sing along & dance!" We couldn't agree more!

• We encourage groups to plan for designated drivers, but discounted tickets are not being offered this year. Non-alcoholic beverages will be available for designated drivers!

• Train? Yes! The LIRR Islip station is just over a mile from the Scully Estate.

• Rides? Yes! Local taxi service is available, as well as Lyft and Uber.

• Wine? Cider? Yes! As in the past, we'll have a wine bar for non-beer drinkers (courtesy of Verace)! And this year we'll also have hard ciders from Aquebogue's Woodside Orchards!
